Is it really broken? Before Service Checklist

Modified on Tue, 25 Jun, 2024 at 1:30 PM

Before your service call, check the questions below. Your equipment may not be broken. These simple checks will help avoid a cancellation fee.

1. Does the machine have power?

Check that your machine is plugged in, turned on, and no breakers are tripped.

2. Are you using more ice?

Check to see if the unit is dropping a new batch of ice every 30 minutes or so. If it is, your machine may need time to catch up after increased demand.

3. Is it very hot or very cold?

Temperatures above 80° F and below 50° F cause your ice machine to produce less, or stop producing ice altogether. Your machine may need time to cool off or warm up.

4. Does the machine have water?

Confirm you water filters have been changed in the past year and your water has not been turned off.

5. Does the machine have space?

Make sure you have at least a foot of space around the machine and there is nothing on top restricting air flow.

Still not sure if a service call is required?

Here are signs to call in for service ASAP:

  • Leak originating from the machine
  • Beeping
  • Loud grinding noise
  • Overheating
  • Freezing up
  • Foul tasting ice
  • Ice cubes hollow or misshapen
  • No ice made for 1+ hour
